Founded by Margie Nel, the practice has grown into a trusted family business. Following Dr Julien Nel’s retirement, Margie has passed the reins to her daughter, Katherine Pearse, a qualified Hearing Aid Acoustician from the University of Pretoria.
We now offer comprehensive hearing care for adults and children aged six and up — combining decades of experience with modern technology and a warm, family-centred approach.
Meet Katherine
Katherine Pearse is a qualified Hearing Aid Acoustician and audiology professional based at Acoustic Appliances Audiology in Greenacres Netcare Hospital, Port Elizabeth. She completed her qualification at the University of Pretoria in 2010 and has more than 11 years of experience helping patients with hearing loss find the right hearing aid solutions for their lifestyle.
After a successful career as a chef, Katherine joined her family’s audiology practice, where she discovered her passion for improving people’s lives through better hearing. She specialises in hearing tests, hearing aid fittings, adjustments, and long-term hearing care — combining technical expertise with genuine compassion.
Katherine is dedicated to helping both adults and seniors experience clear communication and reconnect with the sounds that matter most. Her warm, patient-centred approach has made her a trusted name in hearing care in Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape.
